To protect the Sobo, Katamuki, and Okue mountain range's abundant nature and pass on its appearance to the next generation, we will preserve precious untouched forests, plant trees, and turn suitable forests into multifunctional and ecological ones. We research ecosystems, take measures against harming birds and wildlife and improve the river environment.

　We provide education and training for coexistence to pass on the abundance of nature and the importance of conserving the Sobo, Katamuki, and Okue Mountain Range. We promote ecotourism that uses the natural environment, such as canyoning, bouldering, and other nature activities in the Sobo, Katamuki, and Okue area, a renowned mountain climbing spot.

　Since ancient times, the Sobo, Katamuki, and Okue mountain range have been closely connected with people's lives. Festivals honor the blessings of the mountains, good harvest and pray for safety with Kagura and shishi dancing. Never forgetting the respect for nature, we put our efforts into passing our traditions on the future generations.

　People have been wise and genuine for a long time to make the most of their blessings in the harsh natural environment of steep terrain. In the past, this place was bustling as one of the best mines in Japan. Various industries such as agriculture, forestry, and bamboo work have taken on the area. They are leading producers of timber, shiitake mushrooms, and shikimi (Japanese star anise leaves) used in Buddhist affairs.
